📝 How to make my review sheet
📚 Natasha Lady — Academic tracking
When an assessment approaches, rereading a sheet summarizing the lesson outline and key concepts/ideas is much more practical and efficient than rereading dozens of pages in your notebook. The watchword for creating a sheet is therefore: synthesis!
📋 Key steps for a perfect sheet
Reread and identify the essentials
Reread the lesson to stimulate memory and identify important information: definitions, dates, key concepts.
Use a Bristol index card
Write by hand because writing helps you learn. A personalized sheet is unique and facilitates memorization.
Note down the lesson outline
Knowing your outline is knowing your lesson. Note down the main sections and sub-sections with different colors to distinguish them clearly.
Summarize the main ideas
Note only important information using bullet points. Use keywords and arrows to avoid long sentences.
Structure with a color code
Space out the sheet and use a color code. One color for titles, another for definitions, etc. Important information will stand out visually.
Diagramming for better visualization
Diagrams are visual and thus easy to remember. The mind map gives meaning to ideas by visually clarifying their connection.
💡 Additional tips
⏳ Make review sheets as you go — It is better to start right from the beginning and write your sheets progressively rather than having to summarize a 20-page chapter all at once. Breaking down your lesson into several parts helps you retain it in the long term!
📅 Set a revision schedule and goals every evening to motivate yourself and succeed more easily. Consistency is the key to success.
🔄 Reread and recite — Once your sheets are made, file them away and reread them regularly. To stimulate your memory even more, use them to recite your lesson to your friends and vice-versa!
